To compare wedding photography packages in Ayodhya, send every shortlisted team the same written brief: the functions, places, coverage hours and finished photographs or films you want. A package name becomes useful only when you can see what the team will cover and what it will deliver afterwards.
Start with the moments that matter to you. Then check whether the people, schedule and delivery plan in each proposal can support them. Adobe’s wedding photography guide also recommends discussing the schedule and a shot list with the couple before the day.
Describe each function and the coverage it needs
For an Ayodhya wedding, your preparations, ceremonies and reception may take place in different hotels or event spaces. Give the photographer the full venue names and addresses, including the exact hotel where each person is getting ready. Our Ayodhya venue guide can help with the event-space questions to settle first.
Prepare one row per function with these details:
- Date, location and expected guest count.
- The moments you want covered before, during and after the function.
- Requested start and finish times, including setup and travel between locations.
- Whether you want photographs, video or both.
- Any ceremonies, private areas or people the team should approach with particular care.
Ask the team to return its proposed staffing against that list. Who leads the shoot? Who covers each location? If both partners are getting ready in separate places at the same time, ask how the team will cover both. A total headcount alone does not answer that question.
Review a complete gallery and film
Ask to see a complete delivered wedding gallery, with the photographer’s permission to share it, rather than judging only a few portfolio highlights. Look at family groups, busy ceremony scenes, portraits and evening photographs. Decide whether the treatment of colour, expressions and detail feels right to you.
For video, watch a full example of the kind of film included in your quote. Check whether you like its pacing and how it handles spoken moments. Ask who will photograph, film and edit your wedding, and whether the examples represent that team’s work.
Bring a small set of reference images to explain your preferences. Discuss what you like about them without expecting another couple’s photographs to be recreated.
Make a short priority list and name a family helper
Separate essential photographs from ideas you would enjoy if time allows. Your essential list might include particular family groups, a ceremony moment and portraits with relatives who cannot stay late. Ask the photographer where these fit in the actual schedule.
Keep group descriptions clear and share sensitive family arrangements privately. In Nikon’s wedding photography advice, photographer Joe McNally recommends a family liaison to help organise people. Choose someone who knows the guests and can gather the agreed groups without repeatedly interrupting the couple.
Leave space for unscripted moments too. A priority list should help the team understand your family, not turn the whole celebration into a sequence of posed photographs.
What should the photography package actually deliver?
Ask for a written deliverables list. Use the same questions for each proposal:
| Item | Details to confirm |
|---|---|
| Edited photographs | Promised quantity or selection method, editing included, file formats, and versions intended for printing and sharing. |
| Films | Each promised film’s approximate length, what it covers, orientation, and whether speeches or ceremony audio are included. |
| Album | Size, page count, number of copies, materials, selection process and design-approval deadline. |
| Delivery | Dates for previews, the full gallery, films and album; how each will reach you. |
| Changes | Included revision rounds, what can be revised, response deadlines and charges for additional work. |
Ask separately about unedited camera files, if you want them; do not assume they are included. Confirm how long the team will keep the files and how long any download gallery will remain available. Once delivered, keep your own copies in more than one place.
Compare the total proposal, not just the headline amount
Have each team separate shooting, editing, films, albums and optional sessions. Check travel, accommodation, meals, extra hours, applicable taxes and any other charges. Clarify who arranges the team’s stay and how delays extending coverage will be handled.
Record the payment dates, cancellation and date-change terms, and what happens if the named lead cannot attend. Ask about the team’s equipment and file-backup arrangements. Put important agreed answers into the written booking documents. Our wedding budget guide helps place the complete quote alongside your other costs.
Agree on privacy and access before the shoot
Tell the photographer how you want images of you and your guests used. Discuss portfolio and social-media sharing, private ceremonies and any people who should not be photographed. Ask how access to the delivered gallery will be managed.
If a pre-wedding session involves a hotel, monument or religious site, confirm permission for the proposed activity with that place before booking the session. Do not treat ordinary visitor entry as approval for equipment, styling or a private shoot.
A brief you can send to shortlisted teams
“We are planning our wedding in Ayodhya on [dates], with [functions] at [venues]. We need photography/video from [start] to [finish] for each function. Our priorities are [moments and family groups]. Please propose the team and coverage for each location, itemised deliverables, delivery dates, a complete quote and booking terms. Please also share a relevant full gallery and film that you have permission to show.”
Use the replies to compare coverage and finished work together. Choose a team whose approach you like and whose written proposal clearly answers your brief.
